Artwork Guidelines
- Artwork is accepted by email, disk and camera ready.
- All artwork MUST be black and white (no color or grayscale).
- You may be charged an art and/or scan charge, depending on the quality of the individual job after we see it.
- A sharp printed copy as close as possible to the size to be used is beneficial.
- Lettering - Please provide typed text instructions. We are not responsible for spelling errors due to difficult to read hand written orders
- Logos - Black and white camera ready logo. Faxed art is not acceptable for logo reproduction.
- Color Logos - Color separations for each color and full color print of logo.
- Metal Photographs - For best reproduction, provide black and white photograph. Most color photographs will reproduce.
If using electronic artwork, (in addition to the above), we accept the following:
- Adobe Illustrator Version 6, 7, 8 (MAC preferred, PC acceptable): when using typestyles, please create outlines of that typestyle (TYPE menu and CREATE OUTLINES) and save as an Illustrator EPS.
- Adobe Photoshop Version 5 or less (MAC ONLY): save as Photoshop document
- Quark XPress Version 4.1 or less (MAC preferred, PC acceptable): when using Quark XPress, please provide ALL typestyles and artwork (i.e. scanned files such as .tif or .eps). When in doubt, go to the Utilities menu and look under USAGE for all typestyles and pictures.
- CorelDRAW! Version 5 or less (PC ONLY): if you have a version greater than 5, please resave in version 5.
- Other accepted files (MAC preferred, PC acceptable): .TIF or .EPS
- .BMP Windows Bitmap File: Can be used, but not responsible for the quality of the art.
- Electronic files: .JPG and .GIF ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. A Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint document is NOT considered artwork
- All other files: if you have a file that is not stated above, chances are, we cannot use it.
- Media types: we accept MAC and PC formatted zip and jaz disks and 3.5 inch floppies. If you would like your disc returned, please write name and address on it.
***Be advised: Artwork that is faxed loses much of its quality. Simple artwork faxed at an enlargement may work, but we cannot be responsible for engraveability. You are best advised to mail a sharp black and white copy as close as possible to the size needed.
